During your health consultation, ask your natural health consultant to check you for food allergies. The foods you crave are often, believe it or not, those that you don’t digest properly. Not all food allergies result in a dramatic reaction (such as hives after eating peanuts); they often occur more subtly, at a cellular level. As a result, most food allergies go untreated for a time. Food allergies may be the culprit if you often suffer from fatigue, drowsiness, fluid retention, a strong sweet tooth, depression, anxiety, lack of concentration, constipation, diarrhea, bloating, skin disorders, or dark circles under your eyes. If you suddenly gain a pound overnight when you haven’t over-eaten or exercised too little, you can suspect a food allergy. Common allergens include wheat, dairy, yeast, fats, citrus, and peppers, and a host of other foods associated with them.
If you are a health consultant and would like to add the ability to use muscle response testing for food allergies take a look at our Food Allergy MRT testkit. If you would like to learn more about muscle response testing you may need our Muscle Response Testing Step-by-Step DVD.
Sometimes you can just avoid them, other times you can take nutritional antidotes to help you digest them better. For example, digestive enzymes may help make you react less to those foods that aggravate you. Sodium and B Vitamins are also helpful in many cases. (Case History: Jon had a constant buildup of mucus in his nose and throat. Over the years, he had tried all kinds of nasal sprays, but they only made it a little better. When he went off wheat, the mucus disappeared entirely.)
